Alternaria toxins (P1802-MRT)

Ring test P1802-MRT is designed to cover the alternaria toxins

  • alternariol (AOH)
  • alternariol monomethyl ether (AME)
  • altenuene (ALT)
  • tentoxin (TeN)
  • tenuazonic acid (TeA)

P1802-MRT is organised as a method ring test. That means, the participants are asked to report details of the applied analytical methods in addition to the analytical results. These data, anonymised and summarised in a report, help to identify shortcomings and to enhance the quality of the applied methods. For reasons of fairness, only laboratories that provide details of the analytical method receive the summary of the analytical methods later on.

The laboratories taking part in the test are asked to apply the individual analytical methods established in the labs.

Two test materials are offered (100 g each):

  • A spiked tomato homogenate
    (fresh or processed), and
  • a spiked sample of a cereal based food
    for young children.

Expected time schedule

  • Registration is open until:
    December 1, 2017
  • Dispatch of samples:
    February 5, 2018
  • Deadline for reporting results:
    February 22, 2018

The analytical data are evaluated with respect to

  • the comparability (z-score), and
  • the trueness (70 to 120% of the spiked level).

Participation fee:
460 EUR (basic price for organisation, shipment, etc.)
+ 250 EUR (test material tomato)
+ 250 EUR (test material cereal based baby food)
