P2510-RT

Pesticides, which require hydrolysis

Attention:
It is essential to apply a hydrolysis step for this ring test. An analysis of the parent compound only results in an underestimation of the spiked levels!

The residue definitions according to regulation (EC) No. 396/2005 include the esters, salts and conjugates for some pesticides. The conjugates can contribute significantly to the total amount of the respective pesticide. A suitable hydrolysis should be applied to quantify residues of the pesticides in routine samples.

P2510-RT is designed to cover all aspects of the analysis of pesticides, which require a hydrolysis step in accordance with the residue definition.

For that purpose the test material is spiked with selection of

  • conjugates, and
  • commercially available esters

of the parent compounds and/or the metabolites in accordance with the respective residue definition.

Pesticides within the scope of the test are summarised below (see parameters). A selection of the pesticides is spiked to the test material.

The participants are asked to report the results with hydrolysis in accordance with the residue definiton. The results after hydrolysis are considered for evaluation of the trueness of results.

The analytical data are assessed with respect to

  • the identification of the spiked pesticides,
  • the comparability (z-score), and
  • the trueness (70 to 120% of the spiked level).
